A few years back, I almost got a man killed.
Admittedly exaggerating a bit for dramatic effect, but he was in the middle of a pond, arms giving out, and we were all watching from the shore.
Lemme back dat ass up (like Juvenile)…
It was 2021, and I had just humiliatingly clawed my way back into the WHO'S WHO of Austin men's after being exiled from it the year before.
Long story short, I made a bold social media post during COVID proclaiming my beliefs and shamelessly promoting how I was living my life...
Throwing parties, hugging strangers, in multiple men's groups meeting up regularly, doing breathwork in close quarters, etc.
Now, in this particular men's group, we'd explicitly agreed to not post about it on social media and not talk about the group in general - Fight Club style.
There were some high profile guys in there, and they wanted to be part of this brotherhood without getting wrapped up in public controversy.
I hadn't intentionally broken that agreement, but I had inadvertently broken the group's trust, and while I was frustrated by the semantics, in hindsight, they were 'right'.
To this day, I stand behind the words in that post, BUT, there was also a lot of ego. I wanted to be seen as radical - maybe even go viral - and a part of me was hijacking the group's prestige to enhance my credibility.
(Damn, I've never quite owned it that way)
Welp, I did go viral. Just not the way I'd hoped. The woke mob came AT me, but that's a story for another day.
Technically, I removed myself from the group, but I was effectively kicked out, and I deliberately went radio silence mode.
Got off social media and took a backseat in my wife's business doing mostly finance, HR and admin shit. Behind the scenes, unsexy, humbling.
And eventually, because of some homies who fought for me, I was invited back in.
So when it was my turn to “KING” (aka lead) the monthly gathering, I felt the weight of it. I had something to prove. To them, for sure, but also to myself.
I called it the BROlympics.
We met at a well-known dude’s ranch on the outskirts of Austin, where we played competitive games, ran obstacle courses across the entire property, split wood with axes (harder than it looks, by the way), and kayaked across a pond as part of a relay race.
It was AWESOME. Until one of the guys got into trouble…
He was out in the middle of that water, arms dying, not making it. And here's what happened:
Everybody stopped competing.
No announcement or formal pause. Just a shared instinct. We rallied to support him in a time of need, possibly saving his life.
In that moment, it didn't matter who was ahead or what the score was (but for the record, my team won, bitch).
We were at war together, and our brother needed us.
That's the BROlympics.
The games are great. We have FUN. And make no mistake, we're playing for KEEPS - to WIN. But it's the crucible that matters most. Men are meant to compete, because it brings something uniquely masculine out of us.
This shared rite of passage forges something between men that you just can't manufacture in a conference room or on a Zoom call.
That moment became a staple of everything I've built, and it's a fan favorite at The Mandate Summit.
On Day 3, we start to come up out of the depths together, and we compete - HARD.
Pickleball, capture the flag, basketball, cornhole, mind games, etc. For a couple of hours we throw DOWN like brothers, and the winner gets to paddle the first place loser.
You bet your sweet ass (pun intended) that fratty energy is very much intentional.
In fact, I actually created the original BROlympics 20 years ago (though it wasn't called that, yet) as Brotherhood Chair of my fraternity at San Diego State University.
(You can take the boy out of the frat, but you can’t take the frat out of the BOY)

Alright, let's cut the shit..
This weekend the early commitment discounted rate ENDS for The Mandate Summit, which is May 21–24 in Austin, TX.
If you've been sitting on this, cut that shit out.
The guys who will be there are already practicing two of the most important qualities great men embody:
DECISIVENESS & COMMITMENT
They showed up for themselves (and each other) before it was comfortable - when it was FUNcomfortable - which is when it REALLY counts.
That's the kind of man you're about to be surrounded by.
Read the full breakdown of this movement here
(as well as my personal breakdown that shaped it)
Last chance to get in before the price goes up $500. If you’re considering it, you’d be a dummy to lose 500 big ones.
See you at RusTx Ranch 🤠
(the RAD venue)
Your BROlympic Champion,
Jordan
PS - technically, there aren’t any spots left to stay onsite for the summit, which is absolutely ideal. However, I can get creative and squeeze at least a couple more in there. It’ll be tighter than a virgin’s butthole, but that’s how daddy like it ;)
