My Brotha,
Have you heard about the guy who didn’t eat for 382 days?
Angus "Beef" Barbieri literally ate nothing, lost 276 pounds, and went from morbidly obese to positively thriving.
WILD.
Now, if you’re overweight, starving yourself for a while will likely help with that…
But that’s not what the practice of fasting is really about.
For most of human history, not eating was just...life.
There weren’t drive-thrus and Uber Eats. No food-on-tap fridges. No pantries stuffed with the dankest (and shittiest) snacks imaginable.
You didn’t casually skip break-fast because you were running late for work.
You fuggin’ HUNTED. Or you died.
And during those stretches of hunger, something magical happened:
Dudes got clearer, sharper, and stronger, because we had to, to survive.
But even when fasting wasn’t about survival, it was still a sacred rite of purification.
The ancient Greeks fasted to sharpen intellect and awaken the soul.
Hippocrates, the OG of modern medicine, prescribed fasting to heal disease.
Jesus fasted for 40 days in the desert to connect with God and prepare for his mission.
The list goes on.
Fast forward to now, and we’ve gotten soft like Charmin…
We eat not because we’re truly hungry - but to avoid and distract ourselves.
Tell me you can’t REALate to that?!
Addicted to fullness. Afraid of discomfort.
Spiritually bloated. Metabolically bankrupt.
Alright, dramatic point made.
Now, here’s your invitation to tap into the ancient power and modern wisdom of fasting - with me and a group of like-minded men.
The 14-Day Rational Fasting Challenge kicks off TOMORROW (Monday, Sept 1) and runs until Sunday, Sept 14.
Our official “Last Supper” is TONIGHT — because the Sabbath is the perfect day to feast before the famine.
What is Rational Fasting?
A metabolic cleanse
A discipline reset
A spiritual awakening, clarity-inducing challenge
To clarify: it’s not 14 days of zero food.
It’s a series of 24–72+ hour intermittent fasts. And in reality, it’s whatever you want it to be.
There’s a structured protocol we follow together, but it’s flexible.
The intention is simple: push yourself in a meaningful way.
You can also layer in other fasts - like social media, cannabis, porn, alcohol, TV, coffee, etc.
If you’ve done this before, you already know…there’s magic in the midst of the struggle.
Personally, I’ll be reclaiming my infamous pizza purge from the quarterly fast last June.
And for these 14 days, I won’t be ejaculating, but I will be having sex with my wife (a few times at least).
Yessirrrr.
Saving your seed as a man - harnessing your life-force energy - is a POWERFUL practice. Especially when you’re still engaging sexually but circulating that sauce instead of lettin’ it loose.
(TMI? I dare you to try it.)
Wanna join us?
Inside, you’ll get:
Daily guidance & encouragement
Community accountability from men doin the damn thing

If you missed it, catch the next one:
Tuesday, September 30 @ 6pm CT (every last Tues. of the month, same time/place)

I’ll leave you with a few banger fasting quotes for inspiration…
“The best of all medicines are rest and fasting.” – Benjamin Franklin
“The light of the world will illuminate within you when you fast.” – Gandhi
“Fasting sets the oppressed free.” – Isaiah 58:6
With anticipatory h-anger & premature blue balls,
Jordan Bowditch aka J-Bow
